Yesterday the Leadership Groups of NEOhio came together in the Student Union of the University of Akron for their annual Regional Day. Always a good event to network with citizens from all walks of life & hear Ned Hill's annual recap of how we're doing - a better prognostication but not great.
First some stats to get a better feel for things:
I know, I know - from the looks of things, not much is changing on the site. But what you can't see will astound you!
Behind the scenes, I have been working very hard to install and customize the CiviCRM module (www.civicrm.org), a free, open source contact relationship management (CRM) module specifically designed for nonprofits with drupal-based websites.
OK…what does an organization called the Northeast Ohio Citizens League do? Why are we here and what’s it mean to you? And how to give the answers without writing a 10 page essay. Let’s give it a shot:
If you've visited the site before, you''ll notice that things have changed a lot!
The new neocitizensleague.org website, created with the open source content management software "Drupal," has the potential to change the way Northeast Ohio citizens participate in the community decision-making process, including online forums, event calendars, polls, news, and much MUCH more!
What you see now is just the beginning. What we need now is your great ideas on how best to take advantage of this technology to create an online community and experience that can address the critical public policy issues facing our region.
